This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from low-income, inner-city homes. We are a Title I school, and 92% of the students receive free or reduced rates for textbooks and meals. Two-thirds of our students arrive at school by bus. They do not have many extras at home - not even a car to get to and from school when there is an emergency.
My students are sweet, respectful, responsible, happy and curious students who love to explore the endless possibilities in our classrooms.
My students come to school daily ready to learn.
My Project
My students need drawing paper to use in art class so they can draw and paint masterpieces for their upcoming art projects. My students create beautiful pieces of artwork all year long. I am low on white drawing paper.
My students will be drawing and painting brightly colored paintings like the artists Vincent Van Gogh, and Claude Monet.
My students will use the white drawing paper to draw and paint like the Impressionist painters. The students will also be able to use the paper to draw and paint buildings, people and events similar to their surroundings.
Having this donation will put my mind at ease knowing that my classes will have plenty of paper for future art projects.
