Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Where is it? Where did I put it?" Have you ever asked yourself that question? Sure. So have my eager English Language Learners as they grab a pencil or scissors in order to do their best work. They grab for a pencil, not a tablet, when they have to jot quick notes just like you probably do.

My wonderful students are immigrants or children of immigrants in a high-needs community in a big city.

Their families are very supportive of their education. However, they are also struggling to meet their basic needs. Simple things such as school supplies should not be part of those struggles.

My Project

By providing my students with pencil cups, as simple as it sounds, you will help them be more organized and productive. This will set them off on the right path to being better students and more productive adults. A pencil cup will keep their supplies at their fingertips, not lost in the back of their desks. A pencil cup will help them be more organized with their materials which will help them be more organized with their classwork. Hopefully this will transfer to being more organized with their homework and in other areas of their life as they get older.

Does a pencil cup sound like an important school supply?

Maybe not as important as others, but I believe it will be one more important tool to assist my students in achieving their goals.
