My Kids Need Biographies!

My students need sets of biographies to read and be able to comprehend at their reading levels.

My Students

My students find it very challenging to read nonfiction.

My students are sixth graders who attend a rural school.

Many of my students are on free and reduced lunches. I have about 100-110 students each year. Many of my students enjoy reading once they have picked up a great book, but not many of them read nonfiction.

My Project

It is very important that I use nonfiction in my classroom. I need to get nonfiction books in my students hands that they will enjoy reading and be able to comprehend. I would like to have this set of nonfiction in my classroom because they are all biographies. My students need to be introduced to important people they may not ever know about!

Please help get these books into my students' hands.

I believe using nonfiction in my classroom will create better readers. I think it is important for students to experience reading nonfiction and enjoying it. Helping me get these books in my classroom will give them that chance.
