Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The almost 1000 students at our school live in a low-income neighborhood with limited access to basic school supplies. We are a Title I school with almost all of the students qualifying for free breakfast and free lunch each day.

Although my students have limited access to resources, they are enthusiastic to come to school each day to learn many new standards.

I look forward to giving my students many of the much-needed supplies this year by asking the generous donors of Donors Choose to provide these supplies.

My Project

This week, for the third time this year, I saw the same student with a severe case of head lice. It makes my head itch just thinking about what I saw on her head.

I would like to be able to give parents a lice treatment kit when my students get head lice.

I have found that many of the students have very severe cases of head lice, yet their families do not have the resources to provide their children with removal treatment kits or salon services to remove the lice.

With the help of Donors Choose, I will be able to provide this essential supply to those students in my class who can not afford to buy treatment kits.
