Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our district is a choice district where two other towns feed into it. We have a larger than normal ESL (English as a Second Language) population of students.
Our students are a diverse group.
My students are energetic, and enthusiastic to learn. Many of our students are of lower socioeconomic status. Overall the population of our school is 46% White, 2% Black, 1% Asian and 42% of residents are of Hispanic or Latino origin.
Culturally enriching field trips are on the decline. Experiences are central to our students education, to produce civilized young men and women who would appreciate the arts and culture.
My Project
Post-It easel pads allow for interactive, collaborative work to be done in student-led centers. The post-It large easel pads will allow 2 to 3 students to work on an assignment all together at once. Students can also use the large post-pads to make posters about their readings. They can easily compare characters in large Venn diagrams.
The large size will allow larger than life font so that students anywhere in the classroom would be able to easily read other students contributions to the assignment.
Help make the collaborative process easier within our classroom. These large post-it pads are expensive and was not included in my teacher order this year.
