Our students are part of an Inclusive Preschool Classroom in the great city of Chicago. Our students come from hardworking families that try their best to help their child succeed in school. During these challenging times, teachers and parents are working hand-in-hand to make sure their child is still learning.
Preschool children are curious and are always eager to learn about the world around them.
Our Preschoolers want to explore their surroundings as much as possible when they enter the classroom. They learn new concepts in a fun and engaging way throughout the day.
All our students are eager to share information about themselves when we meet in person or virtually. They like to tell us what food they like, what they are doing at home, if they have pets and above all their families. Each year we create different activities in the classroom for our students based on our Themes. Our Theme Families is an important theme because it allows student's to share thoughts, ideas and express how important their families are to them.
Since we are teaching remotely our students don't have all the materials they need to create collages, Family Shape cutouts and other activities we usually do in school physically.
We usually have a few items and we are able to share them among the students.
When the students are done creating their Family Puppets they are always excited to present them to their peers. Presenting their work allows student to learn turn taking, listening , asking questions, answering, patience and an environment of mutual respect.
