This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Working with a large Latino community from all over the world in my classroom, it can be difficult. My district does not have funding for ELL in every classroom so I am often using other students, Google, my phone, etc. to communicate with them. We have iPads on campus but they are on a first come, first serve basis therefore I am either not getting one or could be taking away from someone else who needs it. I want to be able to use active translation with students new to English so they don't feel left out of the conversations, discussions, and their education.
