Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of these items will be used in my 3rd grade classroom to help my students become better readers. They haven't held a physical book as often as a 3rd grader should. Books have been digital and my small classroom library isn't the best. These books will allow them the chance to read more frequently and fall in love with different stories. I would love for my students to have the opportunity to experience what books have to offer. They are used to my worn down, beat up, and falling apart books. Seeing new and exciting books, that they are actually interested in, will help them read more! I think this would make a huge difference in their ability and want to read. I also asked for a bookshelf (cubeical) and book bins, so there's a specific home for the books and easy access. I would prefer my students to see the books and them be easily accessible. Another item are the colorful storage (photo cases) containers for task cards. I plan on making task cards for specific reading skill needs. This will help organize those items so they can be used more frequently and effectively in my classroom!
