Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our middle school is full of bright, committed, and resilient students. They love to learn, and the students come to school each morning wanting to do well. We are a one-to-one school, so each of our students has a Chromebook. As a Title 1 school with predominantly low-income families, being provided with a Chromebook is a wonderful opportunity.

As committed to their education as so many of our students are, they are still middle school children who forget to charge their Chromebooks, misplace their chargers, and often struggle with that daily responsibility.

In these circumstances, the students miss valuable time working on assignments and completing their digital content and are often unable to complete any of the daily lessons. Providing our core teachers with their Chromebook chargers and multi-plug extension cords will remove that obstacle. It will also improve the classroom climate, ensuring all students are able to work and engage in the lesson.
