What I love most about my students is having the wonderful opportunity and pleasure to teach students the joy of reading and understanding the importance of reading creates students who will become lifelong readers!
These reading buddies (stuffed animals) will be utilized for the purpose of giving students multiple ways to read and to learn to read fluently!
It is important for teachers to read with children for background knowledge, comprehension, and fluency!
Students need multiple opportunities to read and along with that, the confidence to read. At some point, most adults who had stuffed animals found them as a source of comfort and safety. When students begin to feel comfortable enough to read aloud and read independently, they will begin the journey to becoming lifelong readers.
