Help me give my students a personal journal in which they can record their development and growth towards having a positive outlook and self-image about their abilities.

I will have a new group of third graders this year, so I don't know who they are yet. Last year's group was creative, curious and engaging, and they learned a lot about having empathy for others.
In order to create a classroom culture of mutual respect, and celebrating each others' efforts, I taught mini-lessons at the beginning of the day, on a growth mindset.
We watched "Kid President" videos, and together, the children wrote a growth mindset statement at the top of their work papers every day.
All of these, and more went a long way in encouraging my students to be their best selves, and it really helped the tone in my classroom. It wasn't perfect, and some of the children still struggled with the concepts, but I saw a lot of growth in my children. They made cross-curricular connections and could tell visitors what it meant to them to believe in themselves. I want to do the same thing this year, starting from day one.
Each day, I plan to have a part of our Morning Meeting, given over to study and discussion of what it takes to have a growth mindset. Third grade is the first year that students will take standardized, statewide tests, and they need this to help them understand that they can work hard to achieve their goals.
I believe that the weeks of lessons and activities embedded in this book will help them develop stamina, confidence, and positive self-images.
It's also something that they will carry not only in school but for the rest of their lives. This also engages families.
