This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The supplies on my list will greatly help myself and the students in my classroom. All of the items have a use and are all items that we have used in the past.

I am entering my 4th year of teaching.

After 3 years, I have learned exactly what my students love, appreciate, and use the most. My goal for the supplies is to make my students feel valued and have supplies for them to know that we care. In the past, my students have become very frustrated using low-quality scissors. I have found that they enjoy the Fiskars scissors the best.

Every year, my 3rd grade class either sees the Dog Man musical or the Cat Kid musical. 3rd graders love Dav Pilkey! We already have Dog Man books in our classroom, but we do not have Cat Kid books. I can already see their smiling faces when it's independent reading time.

The confetti paper and birthday cards are for my students. For each student birthday, I make sure to make them feel extra special. You never know if they only get their birthday celebrated at school. Each student's gets a birthday cup filled with goodies, a birthday card, and a special birthday chair cover!

My students are extremely special to me. Some of them face hardships at home, and that is something that I am mindful of when I see them every morning. For a lot of my students, school is their safe space.
