This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a special place with amazing students. One of the ways we can support the students at our school is by providing basic hair care and hygiene products for kids in need.
Students that do not have their basic needs met cannot learn.
If students are worried about the state of their hair or hygiene they cannot focus on the task of learning.
Our goal is to start a Care Closet where students can get basic items they may need. We will start with a few basic hygiene items- hair brushes, combs, toothbrushes, and deodorant as well as some fun hair ties and bows. If a child does not have access to these items at home, they can find them at Miller.
