Mustangs' Facility Dog Support

Help me give my students the materials needed to take care of the facility dog. The dog cage and pillow will give the facility dog a place to rest when it is not working in the school.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are committed to meeting the social-emotional needs of all of our students in innovative ways. We are doing this by implementing a school facility dog. The facility dog is chosen and trained specifically for this role where he can make classroom visits throughout the school day! His home base is our STEM lab, where students consistently come to play with him.

The students and teachers can visit the facility dog during the day to decompress or with any social emotional needs he or she may have during the school day.

Our goal is to meet the needs of the facility dog. The treats and toys will give the students a chance to interact with the dog. The other materials will to keep the dog safe and comfortable when at school.

The goal is to have an emotional support area that is welcoming for student and the dog. We hope that this gives the students a chance to be open with their feeling and able to have a calming area to seat with the facility dog.
