This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am moving to a new position this year, and will be teaching foundational reading skills to new and struggling readers in grades K–2, including English Language Learners. My school is located in Cleveland, Ohio.
While I will be using the district's assigned reading program I am in need of additional materials to supplement my students' learning and to increase their reading independence.
The Word Mapping Paddles will aid in sound/symbol correspondences. For fun and engagement, the Jumbo Magnifying glasses will help students search for sight words, letters, prefixes, suffixes within the text. These must have materials will not only engage my students but make guided reading time fun.
