Musicians Need Reeds

My students need 2 boxes of clarinet, 2 boxes of alto sax, a box of tenor sax, a box of baritone sax, and a box of bass clarinet reeds for band performance class.

My Students

Several woodwind instruments require a reed in order to play, and without them it's not possible to produce a sound. A reed is a thin piece of bamboo that lays over the mouthpiece opening and vibrates when air is pushed through it. I have about 25 woodwind players who need reeds in each band class.

My students are dedicated musicians who participate in two annual competitions and commit to before and after school rehearsals during the week.

My woodwind players are in desperate need of new reeds and my supply is very low. Our school cannot afford to supply them. These reeds will help my students prepare for the competitions. We have just a few weeks left before we perform. The students are excited and doing their very best at every rehearsal.

My Project

My students are clarinet, bass clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, and bari sax players. Each of these instruments requires a reed to produce a sound. I am asking for two boxes of clarinet, two boxes of alto sax, a box of tenor sax, a box of bari sax, and a box of bass clarinet reeds for band performance class. These reeds will be used by my 6th, 7th, and 8th graders as they practice their instruments for competition.

These reeds are vital to my students' success.

I have seen some incredible changes in students through their participation in our school band. Students who were on the verge of making wrong choices or choosing a bad path, were pulled back into school through their instrument. With the purchase of these reeds, you may be that saving grace for a student.
