Musical Theatre Development

I teach in a high poverty high school in South Carolina. We have just begun a new theatre program and have produced one very successful show. Now we are expanding to include musical theatre for the 2009/2010 school year. However, because of budget cuts, we have no funds and no budget for materials. Consequently, I am requesting donations for materials to aid musical theatre performances. My students have benefited tremendously from the donations we have already received, and we are eager to build an excellent theatre program which meets the needs of so many students who might otherwise fall through the cracks.

My students face many obstacles because most of them can not afford fees and other means by which classes which require equipment and costumes are funded. Because our program is less than a year old, we have very few supplies and the needs are great.

The wireless bodypack microphones will enhance the musical performances of my students. Even seasoned performers need to use microphones when dancing and singing simultaneously. Having this equipment will allow my students to be competitive in the South Carolina Theatre Association. All my students will benefit from this equipment.

Your help will ensure the continuing success of our beginning theatre program. You DO make a difference in helping us help students. Donations allow us to get equipment we otherwise have no chance of getting.
