My Project

In the "Musical Minds" project, we aim to utilize music education to bolster Social Emotional Learning (SEL) among our students. By integrating a variety of musical tools—manipulatives, instruments, ribbon streamers, music staff dry-erase boards, puppets, boom whackers, and stickers—we create a vibrant, interactive classroom environment where children can explore emotions, collaborate, and express themselves creatively.

Our approach is grounded in the conviction that music offers unique avenues for connecting with emotions, enhancing empathy, and building community.

Through hands-on musical activities, students will engage in storytelling, explore diverse cultures, and develop critical SEL competencies such as empathy, teamwork, and emotional regulation. The project's innovative resources, from the percussive boomwhackers to the expressive puppets, are selected to encourage participation, exploration, and imagination, making learning an exciting and inclusive experience.

"Musical Minds" offers students a unique opportunity to learn about themselves and others in a supportive, creative setting. By incorporating music into SEL education, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, enhance students' ability to manage emotions and cultivate an environment where every student feels valued and understood.
