My Students

My K-12 kids LOVE music! I have the pleasure of teaching EACH and EVERY student in my little school! Through hands-on activities, such as singing, moving, composing, playing instruments, and listening, my students are developing a true love for music. And after all, "Life is a Song; Love is the Music"!

It is truly my pleasure to expose these kids to the joy that is music.

Our community is a very small, rural, low-income area and for many kids, their school music classes are their only exposure to music. Our students are very sweet and crave love, acceptance, and challenge! They love to sing, move, create, play instruments while they experience music from various times, genres, and cultures. I have found that in the eleven years that I have taught here, the students have discovered the joy of expressing themselves through music that they may not have had before. What a joy!

This project is aimed at my elementary general music classes. One of my personal goals is to have the students experience even more hands-on experience with classroom instruments.

My Project

The students at my elementary school LOVE music! These new instruments would expand our learning and fun SOOO much!

It is my hope to build up my Orff instrument inventory so that more kids can join in the fun!

Generous donors funded my amazing bass xylophone a few years ago, so now I am looking to add more, namely the metallophone and glockenspiel! I also would like a couple more sets of mallets so more kids can play at once.

The students will learn about and experience Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, Form, Composition, Improvisation, and Tone Color with these unique-sounding metallophones! We will then showcase these new instruments at our much-enjoyed public performances throughout the year!
