Thank you for considering donating to my classroom.
As the advisor of a club for musicians who do not fall within the traditional band, orchestra, or choir settings, I do not have access to instruments or funds for equipment for my students to use.
Some of my students do not own an instrument of their own. If they do, they might not be able to bring it to school. My goals are to have instruments in my room to provide equitable access for all my students and to allow interested students to try out new instruments they do not have access to at home.
These kids pour their hearts into learning their instrument. They will spend hours researching instruments, learning how to read guitar tablature, and comparing musicians' techniques. Their passion shows each time they get together with each other.
With these instruments, my students will get to share their love of music with other like-minded students during our school's flex periods, after school, and during study halls. Music is their passion and being able to play and learn it at school will give them a place they belong in our school and help their overall mental health. For some kids, it's the highlight of their day when they can spend an hour playing an instrument or chatting with a friend about them.
