My students need flexible and alternative seating options. The rubber base stools will increase focus in my students and promote self-regulation in the classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my classroom are excited to learn every day. Each of my students comes from a different background that shows their individual personalities and their daily achievements. At our school every student receives free breakfast and lunch. Living in a rural area, many of my students have little understanding as to how big the world really is and what they can do for themselves.
My students come into the classroom daily looking for new opportunities.
My kindergarten students can experience an entirely new world and way of thinking when they walk in the door!
My Project
In a classroom with 24 kindergarten students, we are constantly moving throughout the day. I have found that some of my students need more flexibility with their seating options. I have always admired the structure of the wobble and balance stools because I feel they promote focus and give the students a chance to keep their little bodies moving while still getting work done.
My hope for my students is that they can see that there are many different ways and positions that make it possible to learn.
While traditional seats and chairs work for many students, I have found that by giving students options of seating that they can be in control of their learning environment. Normally in the game "musical chairs" someone is "out" after each round, but in my classroom finding a new space or seat of your choice helps you become a more self-sufficient learner!
