Help me give my students shelter from the outside elements for the marching band. During this pandemic, we have to make the best and safest accommodations for our students to continue to play music and that is outside.

My Students
I am the associate band director at my school, and I go back and forth from the middle school and high school. I get to start building relationships with my students when they start with playing their first note to their last concert. I get to start and continue my students’ band experience and watch how they will grow and where the band program will be able to grow.
We have a lot of opportunities to bond with our students, during rehearsals, breakfast, lunch, class time, and the trips we take as a band; it is easy for us to say that our band has a strong bond like a family.
All of our students at the high school and middle school receive free breakfast and lunch due to the large amount of students who live in low income homes. We strive to teach our students how to treat everything that you own or use with respect because everything comes with a price.
We have set higher standards for our students to achieve and be more than what they have been in the past. We want to show the pride that we have in everything that we do.
My Project
During the recent events of COVID19, we have to make sure that the safety of our students comes first. We have not seen our students in months now and we are excited to get back to creating music with them. With the limitations that we are given our students are asked that we practice outside to avoid aerosol transmission while playing.
We can all agree that it is hot outside in the sun and would rather be in the shade.
By provided shelter from the sun for our students, we are continuing to give them more places for them to be allowed to rehearse together in a larger group.
