Music to the Classrooms!

Help me give my students piano accompaniment when I will be traveling from classroom to classroom during hybrid learning. We have a very large campus and I am unable to bring my large piano to individual classrooms.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have had the best attitude with distance learning this year, which can be challenging when learning about music. The students have enjoyed performing the songs that they have learned, which we do together while I accompany them using my guitar and piano.

The kiddos look forward to each week's lessons, knowing that we will have an opportunity to learn and perform together.

On March 1st, 2021, we are switching to a hybrid model where I will be able to teach many of my students in a face to face manner.

My Project

Throughout our remote learning experience, students have been looking forward to their weekly music lessons, as I have been keeping it interactive and regularly accompany the students with my piano. Now that we will be learning in hybrid style, I will be teaching from other teacher's classrooms.

This keyboard will allow all my students to continue to enjoy the interactive nature of our music lessons.

The music room piano is too delicate to be moving from classroom to classroom each week, so a portable keyboard is needed to facilitate our learning.

During each music lesson, students learn about a musician or musical style and create music by that musician or in that style. The portable keyboard will help students match pitch and perform in tempo with the music which are elements of the national arts standards that we are learning.
