Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am hoping to provide novelty and motivation to my students through the use of music. The idea is to provide music clips as cues to changes in the classroom. For example, the transition from classwork to a math lesson might be signaled by playing a song from a Broadway play. I heard about this at a recent seminar I attended. I know that my fourth grade students would respond to this. I currently use music in my classroom with some success. I am limited by the location of my equipment. I use the classroom computer and a small radio cassette player. Each has their own disadvantages. If I had something with a remote control that I could activate from anywhere in the classroom it would be ideal!
