My Students

This group is positively one of the most resilient groups of kids I've worked with in all my years of being an educator. Living in rural parts on our island in Hawaii, my kids are able to live without the luxuries of working facilities, functioning equipment, and a sufficient amount of technology. At our Title I school, my kids are faced with financial challenges at a young age. They "make do" with what they are given and rarely do they complain about the condition of the facilities and/or equipment. My class has the potential to motivate and inspire students through exercise and physical fitness and is one of the few classes that promote movement throughout the entire period!

My Project

Music motivates us to do many things. Having a great playlist on during a workout can really help students get that last couple of reps in even when they're tired. My students need music in the fitness room to help them get the most out of their P.E. workouts. Having the blue tooth portable audio speakers will help students get their heart rates up to a level that is beneficial for them both in and out of the fitness room. The speakers will allow me to get the most out of my students and at the same time help them become healthier lifelong participants of activity.

Music plays a key role in helping students stay motivated and determined in workouts.

I plan to create playlists that run Tabata, High Intensity Interval Training, Circuit training, and continuous exercises for my students to enjoy. My intent is for students to utilize music to their advantage and to include music in their workouts. Music can aid during the warm up, exercise, and cool-down portions of any exercise. I really just want my students to gain a love and passion for daily exercise in all types of activities using music as a motivator.
