My school is a diverse group of learners from all over the globe. This means that my kids come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have very diverse life experiences. This also means that their technology exposure is on a wide spectrum as well.
Music is so important and is a common element that connects even the largest cultural differences in my very diverse classroom.
Finding ways for my students to come together and learn is so important! Technology is a great way for them to bridge those gaps.
My Project
I received a grant for Apple iPads last spring and we love them but right now we have 10 iPads, which is about 1 for every three students. This project would put another iPad into students' hands and allow me to put more pairs of students on the iPads instead of groups of 3.
We use these iPads for many things in music class, including composing in GarageBand, playing skill-building games, and doing karaoke to improve pitch matching and vocal technique.
These devices allow students to get real-time feedback on what they are creating and see how to improve their skills more quickly. Please help me put technology into the hands of more students.
