This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am writing this proposal for my students who participate in our music program. Our elementary school serves a large, urban area and has a high percentage of students from low-income homes. Our student body is culturally diverse and provides our school community with an opportunity to experience music and customs from many cultures as we interact every day. Creating and encouraging music learning opportunities for our diverse student population promotes inclusion and diversity in our educational programs.

Many of my students do not have the opportunity to explore and experience high-quality music instruction outside of the school setting.

It is exciting to see my students grow in their knowledge and excitement of music.

My students love integrating high tech learning tools in our music classrooms. Music technology provides a spark to my students learning that pushes them to higher levels of interest, effort, and excitement in music learning.

We are asking for a generation an Apple Pencil and an iPad to help students in their study of music theory and many music concepts. The integration of a multitude of online music activities will provide my students with rich audio and visual learning possibilities. These activities help them learn things like note reading, rhythm, and the elements of music. My students will be thrilled to get a change to incorporate this kind of technology into their classroom activities. Incorporating the use of other high tech iPad applications like Forscore and Piascore give my students an opportunity to put many things that they are learning in the classroom into practical use.

Help my students experience music, learning in practical and meaningful ways, as they participate in music instruction designed for their own abilities and interests in music.
