Music Technology At Our Fingertips

Help me give my students the flexibility of Apple iPad's features to explore the world of digital music creation.

My Project

The school district provides students with Chromebooks for daily class instruction and assignment completion. Many of the technological resources available to our students are severely outdated, delaying the success of the creative process regarding aspects including but not limited to beat making, sound mixing and mastering, and DAW usage. Through your generous donation, an iPad can create new opportunities to explore digital music creation with applications exclusive to Apple products. An Apple iPad and Magic Keyboard have several specifications that are very user-friendly, whether they are novice creators or professional producers, ensuring their flexibility in the music classroom.

The utilization of an Apple iPad increases the potential to complete cross-curricular projects including:

-Science: physics of sound, acoustics, soundwave frequencies according to pitch

-Mathematics: rhythmic notation and relationships

-English Language Arts: songwriting and arranging with the implementation of instrumental tracks; interpreting rhetoric through composition

-Social Sciences: history of technological advances in the fine arts

The objective for this project is to introduce music technology in a budding arts program that already includes vocal and instrumental music. Many of my incredible, dedicated students have expressed interest in music production, and having access to the latest technology will allow them to successfully venture into a potential career field.
