Students at my school are driven, compassionate, and creative. As budding musicians, equipment is so important to my scholars and their ability to grow. I am the music teacher at a Pre-K through 8th grade education campus. My school is in an impoverished urban area of Washington DC. Our school's instrumental equipment is an essential resource for my students, unattainable elsewhere.
They gleefully explore the piano, rock out on the guitar, flutter on the flute, and vent emotions on the drums.
Each day dozens of students pour into my classroom ready to express themselves through music. Our school is home to some brilliant and motivated young musicians. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and musically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
My students must keep up with the latest advancements in music and technology to spark an interest. Music technology is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my school love using apps and websites to create and learn about music. Unfortunately, my school lacks adequate technology. As such, using technology in my class is almost never a possibility.
With just a few tablets my students will be able to; compose music, produce music videos and independently learn to play any instrument.
Although technology is pivotal part of my students everyday life, my classroom is stuck in the pass. My students deserve better than CD player's and 30 year old music text books. My student's would greatly benefit from these tablets.
