I can not say enough positive things about my kids and their drive to learn. They are constantly surprising me while going through the normal struggles that middle school kids go through. But through it all, they are amazing!
My kids are awesome students who will be leading our world one day.
Our classroom is full of energetic 7th-graders at all levels of academic abilities, economic backgrounds, and social needs. They are full of intelligence and creativity. That is where you can help!
My Project
Some say that music is the greatest communicator in the world. It brings people together and stirs such a wide range of emotions with just a few notes. So the African proverb, " Music speaks louder than words," is undeniable true.
Close your eyes and hear the beats of the Ghana Krin Log Drum calling out for all to join together and celebrate community.
It is joined by the Udu Drum from Nigeria keeping the steady rhythm. As feet begin to tap, the Wasembe Shaker, Tribal Shell Bracelet, and Gankogui Bell from West Africa adds beauty to the air. Then the Zimbabwean Kalimbu sings its beautiful song. The sounds of Africa!
I want my students to experience the sounds of Africa. This project will bring those sounds of Africa to my students, for them to explore, examine, and enjoy. Included in this project are all those African instruments and more. Help my students travel to Africa through these wonderful sounds and beats that come from its many tribal people.
