it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Transitional Kindergarten at my elementary school is the place where learning begins. For some students, it is the first time in a school environment. We have many English as a second language students who come to school excited to learn. We use all our teaching skills to make sure all students are provided with every opportunity to learn. We work to create students whose future is focused on college and career choices that will enable them to be anything their hearts desire.
Transitional Kindergarten is a special time in a child's life.
They come to learn social skills, academics, and grow physically as well as intellectually. We like to focus on critical thinking and problem solving through play. Social development is as important as academic development. We take the time to teach students how to respect and embrace each other's differences and similarities. Transitional Kindergarten is where it all begins!
My Project
Transitional kindergarten and kindergarten is a very exciting place, and daily when we come in from recess, we are excited to start the day! We would love to start our day making music on our calming instruments.
Students can all take turns creating soothing sounds to begin our day and focus our minds on learning.
The sounds of calming chimes, the pitter-patter sound of rain from a rainstick, the relaxing tones from a drum, and the attention getting bang of a gong are all things that will allow the youngest of students to love music. I want to create an opportunity to expose young children to music that will allow them to love creating and enjoying music.
I know my students will love being able to learn about, use, and share the music that can be created with these amazing instruments.
