My Students
At our elementary school, we have wonderful students who are eager and ready to learn about music! Many of our 350 kindergarten through 5th-grade students come from low-income/high poverty households. Every child in our school has their own set of talents and strengths. Making music helps our students to work together as a team and foster a sense of school community.
Due to COVID-19 and the limitations now in place, our music curriculum will need to be presented in a different way.
My students are in need of new books for our music classroom library which will support the concepts taught throughout our curriculum. These new books can be read aloud to our little ones as well as presented digitally to those studying remotely.
My Project
The selected books will help the library in our music classroom grow and allow students to experience music in a different way. Due to the restraints of COVID-19 I will be reading the stories aloud to the students both in the classroom and streaming to those students who are learning from home. Once we return to normal instruction I want my classroom library to be a place that my students can enjoy. Every student book that is placed in my library will be treated with love and care, and the students are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind as well as our music curriculum.
