My Students
Our town is a small rural community located south of Boston. There are approximately 600 students that attend the only school located in town. Students at our elementary school have a strong work ethic and have a genuine love of music and all that it can bring into their lives.
During the students' 40 minute weekly music class, they are given a variety of musical opportunities, including dancing, singing, playing a variety of instruments, creating songs, writing and so much more.
My Project
Over the past year, my students have been generously given 14 Kindle Fires to use in the music classroom through DonorsChoose.org. Unfortunately, due to some larger class sizes, there aren't enough Kindles for the students to have an adequate amount of time with a Kindle. Adding 6 more Kindles will ensure that every student will get an appropriate amount of time on the Kindle Fire, making it a more valuable resource for my music classroom. Over the last year, my students have had the opportunity to use the kindles in a variety of different ways, including music composition, music games, music notation and more!
