My students need 3 clarinets with extra reeds and a trumpet. We have as many as 30 (thirty) students per class and currently have only one working brass instrument and one working woodwind instrument: a trombone and a flute.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from underprivileged families and several are in the foster care system. Many have behavioral issues; music will greatly help them appropriately express themselves and utilize discipline to improve behavior, learn to count (fractions, addition, etc.) and improve reading through comprehension, vocabulary and spelling. Our current inventory of music instruments is considerably lacking: most instruments are unusable due to severe damage and/or missing parts. Most students in all age groups do not know how to read or play music at all due to lack of resources.
My Project
I chose a trumpet and three clarinets. We currently have no trumpets to use, and this instrument is vital for students to have a well-rounded music education. I also chose three clarinets based on the price value, which will enable us to purchase more instruments and increase usability for many students per class. As of now, we have only one usable brass instrument and one woodwind instrument.
These instruments will greatly benefit students and unlock potential talent and immense creativity.
If we are able to fund this project, we will provide artistic enrichment for countless students for several years to come.
