This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want my students to experience using an iPod Touch (and case) to improve their language skills. It will allow them to listen to music that will reinforce the English language.

Our school is located in a low socio-economic area.

100% of the students are Title 1 and qualify for the Free Federal Breakfast and Lunch program. Many of my students come from homes whose primary language is Spanish and do not speak English. Therefore, they need a lot of support in the English language. My kindergarten students are bright and enthusiastic. They love music and are very excited about new songs.

My Project

With an iPod Touch children will be able to listen to a wider variety of music with no interruptions that could cause a distraction among the students. They will listen to music that will support the language program while still having fun. They will be able to listen to books and even to their own recorded voices which will encourage reading.

Please support my students in this journey through the world of literacy with the help of music.
