Our school district is in the beautiful foothills of the Western Maine Mountains, comprised of 3 Pre-K-8 schools and one high school. We are a Title I district with over half of our students on free or reduced lunch. One of my tasks is developing choirs, which the district has not had for many years.
One of the most important takeaways that I would like my students to have is a love of music.
Our students are talented young musicians! From the joyful beginning in kindergarten to the high school student finding music as expression and a different window from which to view the world, music unites us. Music is always important, but in times like these, having music that is relevant to students brings them comfort and a reprise from the world.
TPT offers a wide range of music resources that are perfect for students of all ages and learning styles. In addition to including activities from multiple genres, these resources cover many aspects of music: notation, history, composers, composition, and even virtual field trips.
As wonderful as all that is, many of these resources are now accessible to be used online making remote teaching much more engaging!
Right now, Covid in our area is spreading rapidly. I would love to be able to share activities at home and in the classroom.
