This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello, we are excited about this new project.

Our classroom's music center is a space where our students can safely express their emotions while trying out different instruments.

Two of our most popular instruments have been our 12 year old hand drums. They get a lot of love and are about to completely break. We are looking to replace them with more sturdy drums along with adding two other percussion instruments. We also have several cracked maracas that need replacing. The instruments we have selected are from different countries and we'd like to point out the countries on a globe so that our students can have some culural background knowledge. Our plan is to play music from different cultures and genres to help our little ones work through their different emotions. They would be encouraged to go to the music center to play instruments of their choice as they self regulate. Thank you for taking the time to read about our goals.
