This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Testing season is one of the most daunting times of the school year. My students go from specials area testing to content area testing for nearly a month straight with no reprieve. Their growing minds are pushed to the limits during these important assessments and, when they’re done testing for the day, NEED to get out of the classroom and burn off some energy. Fun by way of taking the music classroom to the great outdoors!

If I were to receive a powerful Bluetooth speaker, it would mean that I could give my students a wide array of musical experiences outdoors in which large groups of students could all have fun simultaneously.

During the height of testing season, special area teachers take each grade level outside for some much-needed fun, and I've decided to teach my students new songs, dances, and games since I won’t have access to my music classroom. For all to participate, this fantastic speaker that I'm requesting will not only be used for this endeavor but for so much more. A portable speaker means I can be movable when teaching on a cart if my room is used. If the power goes out, I will still be able to keep the music going. Finally, if another teacher wants a dance party in their classroom to reward good behavior, I'll be there!

It would help us cut loose during one of their most stressful times of the year and bring a smile to their faces as we play, sing and dance outdoors.
