Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Thank you for considering the funding of this project. While we are blessed to have many Orff instruments, I would like to provide additional percussion instruments for my K-2 students as well as manipulatives for all K-5 students. I look forward to starting to use centers in our music classroom and the variety of instruments and manipulatives I am requesting will provide ample opportunity for my students to have choice and for me to provide greater differentiation in my classroom.

We will be using the hula hoops for dancing, motor skill development, centers, etc.

We will be using the popsicle sticks for rhythm notation, rhythm dictation, and rhythm composition. The bean bags will be utilized for staff games and rhythm games.

The puppets would be amazing for my K-2 students! We look forward to using them to assist the kids with learning how to use their singing voices and for musical storytelling.

We are a Title I school. Our students love music and the performing arts. Thank you for your consideration!
