Music Books For Music Students!
My students need a classroom set of Tradition Of Excellence books so they can learn to read and play music.
Let the band play! Help by donating to provide a class set of method books for the band class at my school.
My students are diverse, energetic, hilarious, and in need.
The middle school they attended services approximately 400 students and a little less than 100 of them are enrolled in my band class. Many students that attend my school are unable to enroll in a music class because of the financial burden it places on the parent/guardian. As much as we try to provide for each student we cannot provide everything they need for band.
Throughout the year students will work on developing a good sound on their instrument and learning what it means to be a well rounded musician. In this book, students learn about cultures from different parts of the world, while learning how to perform a skill that is important to them.
This book also gives students a good history lesson about the history of music and helps guide them on an adventure to discover the beginnings of music as it travels through the different music time periods.
This book pairs with a program called Smart Music, which we use in class, that allows students to see instant feedback about their performance. Like a video game that tells how many points they earned in a certain level, my students strive to reach the top score and by having these books, students will be able to practice and achieve their goals.
Music is near and dear to my heart.
When I was in middle school I remember friends of mine not being able to experience music class because they couldn't afford it. I long to have as many students as I can get in my class. Students should be able to try and experience the world. Music allows them to experience the world through a multitude of avenues. Donate and see an impact in our future through your support of music education.
