Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Working in a school where the majority of our students are experiencing a rising amount of trauma in their lives, it would greatly benefit them to be exposed to different types of healing strategies. We offer a Yoga and mindfulness class at our school, but the students have yet to learn about sound healing in music. As someone who uses sound healing, I can speak to the multiple benefits that it would have on my students. First and most importantly is that sound bath healing helps to alleviate stress and anxiety by regulating their nervous system. I look forward to exposing my students to new experiences through sound and music.
