Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are lively, clever, and creative. We are an arts magnet school and the only elementary school in town with a dance program. Students especially love creating their own works of art and collaborating with peers. We study dances across many different cultures and time periods. When they dance they experience the world.

My Project

Students love incredible lighting in a dance class! It takes their minds off of self-consciousness. This portable sound system with disco lighting is perfect! Our program will have the flexibility of listening to radio, music from cellphones/devices, or by auxiliary cord. Every kid gets a chance to share their music and I get to access more music for teaching! I love that our schools Dance Company will be ready to go on tour again in the community as soon as things get back to normal after COVID19.

Celebrations at school will be brighter!

Even drive by birthday parades for students who are learning remotely will be lit and musical.
