My students are eager learners that work best with hands on methods of learning. They shine most when they have opportunities to think creatively and express themselves. My students really enjoy music as it provides opportunities to be creative and expressive on a daily basis.
The school I teach at is in a poor and troubled neighborhood where the kids are made to grow up quickly and take care of their younger siblings and cousins.
They often don't have school supplies at home and are only able to complete assignments at school.
All of the students at my school are full of great potential and a desire to learn. Even though their home lives are not the best, I want for them to have the best opportunities at school to learn and grow so that they can lead better lives as adults. Having the privilege of seeing these students for the duration of their elementary years, I get to see their growth from pre-k to 5th grade. My goal is to make the best of these seven years to help them grow to their fullest.
These dry erase markers and the music staff dry erase boards will be useful for my students for years to come. They will get the chance to quickly and easily answer musical questions, create snippets of music, copy and analyze music, and so much more. The uses the students will get out of this will be endless. The students will also find learning and working more fun and exciting.
These resources will allow for quick assessment so I can more accurately teach where they are.
The students will have the chance to get the type of learning they need continuously due to the speed and continuity of the informal assessments I will be able to complete with the students.
