This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach special needs high school students anywhere from 9th to 12th grade. At this school, more than 50% of students are Black, Latinx, and/or Native American, and more than 50% come from low-income households. My students are unique, kind and deserving of the best education they can get!
My Project
I teach a financial algebra class who is spending the semester learning about online banking, budgeting, expenses, and more. All student have an online "bank account" as well as class jobs and expenses. They pay monthly rent for their desks and earn biweekly paychecks.
In order to reward them for their hard work and teach them financial independence, I would like to create a classroom store with the items you so graciously can donate.
Students are only spending classroom money that rewards them for hard work and responsibility. Thank you very much!
