This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 4th graders are in an ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) class located in the Bronx, NY. ICT is a setting in which general education and special education students learn together in the same environment. As a teacher in an inner-city school, my students are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of school. My goal as an educator is to provide my students with a safe, comforting and enjoyable environment when they enter my classroom. I love to help prepare my young fourth graders for success in their years to come.
My students love to work towards rewards!
During the day, we give out tickets for role-model behavior in the classroom. On Fridays, the class gets to redeem their tickets for prizes and they love it! Along with the prizes I have requested, the class will also enjoy snacks to keep them energized.
Lastly, we were lucky enough to be provided with new carpets this year! Our custodians are very busy and most times do not have enough time to vacuum our carpets. A donation to help us have our own classroom vacuum would be amazing! My students love to work in a clean classroom environment.
