My students are in an academic support class. The classroom has a mixture of students with special needs and those who need to improve their executive functioning and social skills. Many are not intrinsically motivated, so the snacks and incentives will help keep them focused on their tasks. My goal is to create fun and non-traditional lessons that will engage them in the learning process and help them improve academically.
The snacks and incentives I am requesting will be used to motivate my students to engage in academic tasks that are uncomfortable for them, and to reward those who have persevered.
