My Students
The students at KHS are motivated to learn and super excited about using technology to collaborate as they help advance each other's understanding of math concepts. We are working on helping students learn mathematical thinking and how math is present in their everyday lives.
My Project
As a high school Algebra teacher, I can't always find the time to provide individual instruction to those who are not fluent in basic multiplication and division. Having manipulatives allows students to gain mastery of these rudimentary skills at their own pace. Math games that focus on multiplication, division, and order of operations allow students to build on skills that we use for multi-step equations, factoring, simplifying exponents and other complex equations, which are crucial when we cover quadratic equations. Dry erase graphs allows for students to make mistakes because they know they can easily wipe away their errors!
