My students are a diverse group of special needs, below level, and on level students. The majority of my students are one or two levels behind in math. I also have a few students that are three levels behind.
I believe that one of the contributing factors of the gap in learning is due to the COVID pandemic.
Many of my students did not attend school for a year to a year and a half. To help close the gap in math, I am requesting self checking flash cards so they can practice their multiplication skills while I am pulling students for remediation at my teacher
table.
I believe these manipulatives will help students become fluent in their multiplication facts. I believe by developing a greater understanding in math that my students will build more confidence in themselves while closing the COVID learning gap.
