My Project
What student doesn’t enjoy playing games? Bringing games into the math classroom teaches students many skills beyond just math. Learning to work together, communicate, strategize, and problem solve are all skills students will use for a lifetime.
Students often come to math with little confidence and mastery of multiplying and factors.
The game Prime Climb can help students develop comfort working with factors and build number sense. All while having fun. The game works visually for students by color coding numbers. Students can see factors that multiply together to make numbers. They also gain a better understanding of prime and composite numbers. Playing the game will build student confidence working with numbers.
The Prime Climb games will be a critical resource during my sixth grade math intervention class times.
