Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever noticed how kids, even teenagers, get rowdy when they don't have fresh air? Our goal is to provide our students and teachers a safe, on campus location to learn but not feel so closed in.

Our plan is to beautify our courtyard to create an outdoor learning space for all teachers.

A big focus in our school is retaining student engagement and getting our teenagers to be excited about school again. Kids who love school, come to school.

My Project

Our goal is to not only create an outdoor classroom for all teachers to use, regardless of their subject, but to also use it for hands-on learning. This outdoor learning center will be home to various hands-on, living science activities. The plexiglass will be used to create see-through flower beds to allow students to study root development, tropism, and decomposition. Students will be able to take charge of their growth by volunteering to be caretakers to our gardens.

Exposing students to real life application does nothing but increase their excitement about coming to school.
